Energy Analyst (Junior and Senior)

East London

£30,000 - £45,000 DOE

(25 days holiday + BH, life assurance 3x salary, 5% Pension)

Energy Analyst needed for a growing sustainable energy organisation based in the East London area who are looking for an Energy Analyst to join a team of 5 in Energy Intelligence that are responsible for the day-to-day energy analysis activities of the business and schemes. The team are crucial to driving business decisions working closely alongside operations, engineering and senior management and therefore the role requires high level methodical and analytical thinking.

What the role entails:

As a Energy Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Measure, monitor and report on plant physical performance (thermal and cooling efficiencies, electrical efficiencies, operational regimes, plant outputs, etc
  • Maintain and develop data collection to allow effective internal and external reporting
  • Investigate and improve all system losses (thermal and electrical losses, parasitic loads, etc.)
  • Report on energy efficiency and financial performance of energy sales
  • Identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements
  • Investigate and improve all system losses
  • Ongoing analysis of the energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and recommendations for rectification to ensure that energy is delivered consistently and efficiently to meet contractual requirements
  • Calculate the energy revenues and costs
  • Carry out regular review of data and compare with the Energy Intelligence team bulk data
  • Check consumer consumptions against benchmarking data and budgets
  • Monitor system data for gaps, spikes, issues
  • Attendance of customer energy meetings where required and produce client reports

Experience required for the Energy Analyst position:

  • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Discipline
  • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • An understanding of the principals of district energy and CHP
  • Heating and cooling system design including a range of generation system (CHP, Biomass, Boilers etc.) would be an advantage
  • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks
  • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs and Metering Systems would be an advantage
  • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership would be an advantage
