Global Energy Manager - Remote working- to £65k plus bonus and benefits

A leading Facilities Management Service provider is urgently seeking and experienced Energy Manager to join their growing business working from the comfort of your own home. We are looking for someone who has experience driving energy projects, solutioning, Innovation, Data Analysis etc. You need to have a trades background, ideally Mechanical and have good knowledge of M&E systems and assets. This is an international role covering multiple clients so we need a can do attitude and can be based anywhere in the EU.

Purpose of the Job

This role will liaise with a variety of key business teams to ensure the company applies best practice in energy management across hundreds of sites globally. Within this dynamic and growing business you will also be responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and projects to reduce carbon and energy use and develop processes and systems.

The Global Energy Manager will be responsible to:
Monitoring the energy and carbon sector and develop benchmarks from premises and readily available industry data to identify good and best practice and potential opportunities for our client to reduce energy and carbon emissions.
Identifying from data and site surveys, energy saving projects, including robust business cases around investment and presenting these to key stakeholders
Maintaining a pipeline of environmental savings initiatives for continuous improvement
Audit utility data quality and ensure high accuracy is maintained
Carry out desk-based energy surveys as required
Hold engagement calls/forums globally where required
Carry out measurement and verification of energy savings projects
Engaging with internal stakeholders to successfully implement the projects and drive change across the business
Working with the wider team to identify new projects and continually review existing processes to ensure they are as efficient as possible
Provide technical and practical advice and offer training on energy efficiency and energy management.
Contribute to sustainable development initiatives;
Contribute expert advice to the client in order to create/implement policies and systems for buying energy and helping with contract negotiations;
Liaising and negotiating with contractors, suppliers, and other relevant organisations to achieve our clients goals;
Ensure accurate records are maintained and energy monitoring data is collected regularly.
Liaising with and providing technical support to mechanical and electrical design engineers on new and refurbishment projects regarding sustainability, energy and water conservation;
Perform site inspections and energy surveys as required;
Prepare detailed feasibility studies and cost estimates;
Keep abreast of enforcing agency / governmental guidelines around the world and communicate any impending changes to the client;
Recommend sound policies directed toward energy conservation;
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.


Accountabilities
Energy Management SME to 1 Global Account.
Consistent and standardized (with limited customization) end to end business process
Platform and conduit for all global deployment/initiatives relating to FM and digital tools and applications
Detailed understanding of what is required to enable the roll out and deployment of initiatives and projects from the global/regional/country/segment perspective.

Person Specification

Essential

Proven experience managing energy in complex organisations across a number of sites
The ability to influence and engage a wide range of stake holders, bringing teams together to drive change
Exposure to a wide range of energy technologies including demand response, renewable generation, energy data management and controls/sub-metering, HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration
A relevant degree (or equivalent) with very strong analytical skills and data management experience
A good understanding of building control systems and building management systems would be ideal.
Experience in LEED and BREEAM practices would be of great benefit.
Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. They must be self-reliant and able to draw on their experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability effectively communicate with diverse audiences will be essential.
Experience in undertaking ASHRAE/CIBSE energy assessments and reports
Highly organized and responsive, with ability to deliver under pressure
High levels of computer literacy Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and PM tools.
Excellent influencing and communications skills
Willingness to learn
Motivated and driven

Qualifications:

A relevant Environmental or Engineering Degree
Minimum 5 years experience in similar roles
Certified Energy Manager or similar (or working towards this)
Membership to relevant professional body is desirable
Knowledge of EPCs, ESOS, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, BREEAM, LEED is essential
