- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them regulate their behaviour and develop positive coping strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and mentor.
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, using de-escalation techniques when required.
- Support students in the classroom, ensuring they remain engaged and focused on their learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans.
- Assist with activities and interventions that promote social, emotional, and academic development.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents/carers as need-ed.
- Previous experience in a behaviour support role, ideally within a PRU, SEND, or SEMH setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills, with experience in de-escalation and crisis management.
- Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or other behaviour management programmes (preferred but not essential).
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young people with challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people facing significant challenges.
