The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing the tendering process, and providing strategic input to ensure competitive and profitable bids. This role requires a strong leader with an analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and deep industry knowledge.

Senior Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects, including commercial and residential fit outs, refurbishments and restorations.
  • Manage the tendering process, from initial enquiry through to bid submission.
  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and pricing.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive cost plans.
  • Provide value engineering options and cost-saving strategies where applicable.
  • Collaborate with project managers and the commercial team to refine cost estimates and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and build contingency plans into costings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and subcontractor rates.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, tender presentations, and post-tender interviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in Estimating, ideally in a fit-out, refurbishment or restoration setting.
  • Proficiency in estimating software.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
