As our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), you will be the driving force behind SEN provision in the school, ensuring that our approach to inclusion is embedded in all areas of school life. You will lead the identification of SEN pupils, ensuring that they receive high-quality, individualised support. Your work will make a profound difference in helping children overcome their barriers to learning, and will play a key role in maintaining our school's strong reputation for inclusivity.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring that the needs of all pupils are fully met through tailored strategies and interventions.
• Work closely with teachers, offering guidance and advice on differentiating lessons to ensure that pupils with additional needs can fully engage with the curriculum.
• Coordinate the implementation and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), working collaboratively with parents, staff, and external agencies to set and monitor meaningful goals for pupils.
• Liaise with parents and carers, ensuring they are actively involved in the planning and review process for their child's education, and providing regular updates on their child's progress and needs.
• Facilitate staff training and development, ensuring that all staff are well-equipped to support pupils with SEN through in-house training and external opportunities.
• Monitor the effectiveness of interventions, using data and feedback to evaluate the progress of SEN pupils, and adapting strategies where necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other specialists, ensuring that pupils receive comprehensive support.
• Stay current with SEN legislation and best practices, ensuring that our school complies with all statutory requirements and continues to provide an outstanding level of support for SEN pupils.

We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and proactive SENCO who is committed to inclusive education. To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working in primary education.
• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a willingness to undertake this qualification.
• Proven experience working with children with a wide range of special educational needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to lead the implementation of EHCPs.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
• A compassionate and child-focused approach, with a deep commitment to overcoming barriers to learning and supporting the well-being of all pupils.
• A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the ability to lead confidently in a fast-paced school environment.
