1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant required

Classroom Teachers Ltd are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 6 student with ASD.


As a 1:1 ASD SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the student with ASD on a 1:1 basis, providing support and assistance to help the student make progress in their academic and personal development.

The role is 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the student with transition from home schooling back into school
  • Providing support and assistance to help the student make progress in their academic and personal development
  • Working closely with the teacher to ensure that the student's needs are being met
  • Supporting the student throughout the day, both in and out of the classroom there will be a week or so at home building a rapport
  • Liaising with parents and other professionals to ensure that the student is receiving the best possible support and care

Requirements:
Experience working with autism
This is an immediate start, DBS on the update service is required.
Able to start position ASAP
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to the welfare and development of students
