The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to join our team full-time from January 2025. This permanent position will involve teaching Computer Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, enabling students to develop essential programming and computational thinking skills. The successful candidate will be passionate about technology and education, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to excel in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Teach programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and the principles of computer science
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science exams, supporting their academic success
  • Foster students' interest in coding, software development, and emerging technologies
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to aid development
  • Contribute to the growth of the Computer Science department, sharing resources and best practices
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Support students in developing coding projects and portfolios to showcase their skills

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++), software development, and computational theory
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at GCSE and A-Level
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A passion for technology, problem-solving, and fostering digital skills in students
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
