As a Computer Science Teacher, you will guide students in understanding key computer science concepts, from coding and programming to cybersecurity and digital literacy. Your role as a Computer Science Teacher will be pivotal in preparing students for the demands of the modern world.

Responsibilities:·       

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons that cater to students at various key stages, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible.
  • Teach core Computer Science topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, and digital technologies, adapting content to meet students' needs.
  • Support and inspire students in developing both their technical skills and knowledge, fostering a passion for computer science.
  • Prepare students for exams and coursework, providing the necessary guidance, resources, and practice to help them achieve their academic potential.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to actively participate in lessons.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field of Computer Science, integrating new technologies and techniques into lessons where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve a comprehensive ICT curriculum that supports cross-curricular learning and encourages innovation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance, providing detailed and constructive feedback to both students and their families.
  • Promote digital literacy by teaching students responsible and ethical use of technology in a safe and informed manner.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
  • Previous experience as a Computer Science Teacher, ideally within a school setting.
  • ECTs are also encouraged to apply!
  • Strong knowledge of computer science, coding languages, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create engaging lessons.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
