GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an ECT Psychology Teacher to join a welcoming and progressive secondary school in Redbridge. This is an ideal post for a Psychology specialist at the beginning of their teaching career, ready to bring fresh ideas and energy into the classroom.

About the Role

As an ECT in Psychology, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will be supported by an experienced department and a tailored induction programme to help you develop your practice and confidence within the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Use a range of strategies to support students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, debate, and reflection.
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and pastoral staff.
  • Take part in department meetings, training sessions, and whole-school initiatives.
  • Contribute positively to students’ academic progress and overall well-being.

Job Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS) with a specialisation in Psychology or a relevant subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Psychology within UK secondary schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in the field of Psychology.
  • The ability to use technology and interactive resources to enhance student engagement.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for supporting young people and contributing to a dynamic school community.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
