Maths Academic Mentor Southwark ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a Maths Academic Mentor in Southwark, where you'll be given the opportunity to help students unlock their academic potential. This Secondary school in Southwark has a committed and enthusiastic teaching staff, and theyre looking for someone who can support their drive for improvement in Maths. The school is rated Good by Ofsted and has students who are eager to learn, making it an ideal environment for an Academic Mentor to thrive.

Role:

  • Mentor small groups of students, helping them improve their GCSE Maths grades
  • Provide 1:1 support to students who are having difficulty or need help reaching top grades (8s/9s) and pursue Russell group Universities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and senior staff to create effective learning plans
  • Assist in delivering targeted lessons and activities designed to boost student achievement
  • Use your expertise to raise the level of Maths education within the school


Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Maths (or a closely related field) from a top 20 UK university
  • Previous experience working with children or tutoring students in a Maths-related subject
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead engaging learning sessions
  • Passionate about helping students reach their full potential in Maths
  • Confidence in managing student behaviour and leading small group sessions


Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, term-time, until July 2025

Pay: £450-500 per week
