GSL Education is seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Redbridge. This is an excellent opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and help them thrive in their learning environment. Previous experience in an SEMH setting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in behaviour management and foster emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement personalised strategies for students.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferable.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive attitude towards working with young people.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
