We are currently looking for a highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant and Support staff who has experience working with learning disability and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
This position is very unique as even though you will be going to an amazing SEN School as an SEN teaching assistant in Redbridge.
Our education is one of the few places in the UK that combines therapeutic one on one support with a holistic approach. This includes school basedand one day a week working on a farm with animals. The maximum number of young people and children accepted for this programme is currently 8
Some children, maybe as a result of SEN, have difficulty interacting positively and appropriately with their peers and adults. holistic education can make a real impact.
Requirements;
- Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
- Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
- Good IT & communication skills.
- Flexibility
- Previous experience of working with Children with additional needs is.
- Identified signs of distress in students, resolving behavioural and emotional issues.
- Assisted students with a range of learning differences, including ADHD, SEMH , ASD verbal and non verbal to achieve their full potential for independence.
- Worked with SENCO to ensure effective planning and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintained child safety, security and good behaviour during classroom and outdoor activities.
- Improved communication skills for non-verbal children, using non-verba communication methods, such as Aztec .
- Supported classroom teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording students progress.
- Led PE session ordering resources and planning accordingly
