Role Purpose:As a Housing & Lettings Officer, you will play a vital role in:

  • Allocating council and registered provider homes based on the Housing Act 1996.
  • Managing our choice-based lettings system for permanent homes.
  • Matching applicants with special needs and providing essential housing advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Planning: Utilise your knowledge of housing laws to support customers effectively.
  • Operations and Support: Coordinate the advertising of void properties and verify applicant details.
  • Communication and Partnership: Build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.

What We're Looking For:

  • Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Experience in customer service, particularly with vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Candidate requires experience in allocations and lettings from a Local Authority background.
