IT Support Technician

A leading UK based organisation is currently recruiting for an IT Support Technician to be responsible for the processing and distributing of orders for IT equipment, dealing with IT fault calls for hardware issues, warranty replacements and mobile devices. This is not your typical IT support role but you will play a vital part in supporting a business with over 5000 staff in supplying IT equipment to them and managing orders. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills be able to work 5 days a week onsite and have a solid fundamental of IT.

Responsibilities

  • Process IT Supply requests using the appropriate IT Service Management solution and support the replacement of faulty equipment or services, ensuring all requests/calls are processed in a timely and accurate manner whilst maintaining the integrity of the Asset Management Database to support audit compliance.
  • Maintain and update existing documentation with complete accuracy.
  • Aid users in a professional manner following agreed procedures for further help or escalation.
  • Assist in the configuration of Hardware/Software and peripherals and the systems testing of platform-specific versions of one or more hardware products.
  • Responsible for upgrading and troubleshooting hardware and software issues on computers in IT Supply and may be required to replace parts within laptops and computers.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11
  • Have a good eye for detail
  • Any experience of imaging laptops (training for this will be provided on the job)
  • Good knowledge of Mobile devices (Apple / Samsung)
  • Can work to tight deadlines
  • Some lifting will be involved in the role
