Year 2 Teacher - Mainstream Primary School - Tower Hamlets

Are you passionate about supporting young learners through their early academic milestones? We are currently assisting a mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher. This role is crucial in guiding students through their first formal exam experience (Year 2 SATs) while fostering a love for learning.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will create an engaging and supportive environment, ensuring students develop the confidence and skills needed to achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in their academic, social, and emotional development, preparing them for a smooth transition into Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that align with the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with a particular focus on preparing students for Year 2 SATs.

  • Provide targeted support to ensure students grasp core concepts in English, Maths, and other foundation subjects.

  • Implement effective assessment strategies to monitor progress and identify areas for development.

  • Create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment that supports all pupils, including those with additional learning needs.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff members to provide a comprehensive learning experience.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's educational journey.



Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is highly desirable.

  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment framework, including Year 2 SATs preparation.

  • Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
