A renowned client serving cafs, businesses, and home brewers through their wholesale platform and e-commerce store is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Engineer to lead their engineering department, which services customers' coffee equipment. This position is based in East London.
Role Overview: The Lead Engineer will be responsible for driving growth, development, and profitability within the engineering department. This role involves coordinating day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent customer service for wholesale clients, and mentoring a technical support representative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the engineering department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Drive growth and profitability within the department.
- Coordinate daily operations and provide exceptional customer service.
- Mentor and develop the technical support representative.
Key Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of the machine sales process and prior sales experience.
- Relevant engineering experience in the coffee industry and with related machinery.
- Excellent technical knowledge of coffee-related machinery.
- Experience as a barista or the ability to dial in espresso and operate various coffee machines.
- Proficient IT and computer skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas.
- Proof of the right to work in the UK.
- A full, clean driving licence.
