An established specialist highways and infrastructure contractor that operate across London are seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their team in North / East London Borders. The role is working on a range of highways maintenance and highways improvement schemes valued at £15M per annum.
The business is part of a wider group that delivers major infrastructure projects across the UK. They have experienced significant organic growth over the last three years and have built a stable commercial team that delivers term maintenance contracts across the capital.
This hybrid working role requires three days per week on-site.
The Role
- Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Senior Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include;
- Carrying out measurements on-site
- Verifying sub-contract requisitions
- Managing sub-contract accounts including applications for payment
- Liaising with and providing commercial support to site teams
- Maintaining records and supplying information for monthly cost and value reports
- Support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
- Maximise cash flow through control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment suppliers
- Value work executed by subcontractors and certify interim and final payments.
Experienced Required
- Suitable candidates will be educated to HNC / BSc in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management and will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of NEC or ICC contracts.
- You will be able to demonstrate an excellent grasp of Microsoft Excel and and a proven track record of commercial success delivering infrastructure, highways maintenance and or utility projects.
This role is immediately available and is being offered outside of IR35.
