The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join our team full-time from January 2025. This permanent role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, helping students develop practical, technical, and creative skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching design and technology, including product design, engineering, graphics, and materials, and will inspire students to think critically and creatively about solving real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics including product design, engineering, materials, and graphical design
  • Foster students' creativity and problem-solving abilities, encouraging practical and technical skill development
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology exams, supporting their academic progress
  • Assess and monitor student work, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
  • Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology department, sharing resources and best practices
  • Create a safe, well-managed learning environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment
  • Support students in developing a design portfolio, showcasing their skills and projects

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge in design, engineering, and technology disciplines
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting, including GCSE and A-Level
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • A passion for creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
