The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher to join our team full-time from January 2025. This permanent position offers the opportunity to inspire and guide students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them explore and develop their artistic skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for both teaching and the visual arts, delivering lessons that foster creativity and critical thinking while aligning with the national curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative art lessons across a range of mediums, in line with the national curriculum
  • Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for their artistic growth
  • Contribute to the development of the Art department and collaborate on exhibitions and showcases
  • Create a stimulating and inspiring classroom environment that promotes a love for the arts
  • Provide pastoral support to students, helping them develop both artistically and personally

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Art or a related subject
  • Strong knowledge of art techniques, history, and contemporary practices
  • Experience teaching art in a secondary school setting, including GCSE and A-Level
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for fostering creativity and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
