Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Service (EBD)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in a Children's Residential Service supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). In this role, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and providing leadership to a team of residential staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans for children and young people, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of care staff, ensuring that all are trained, motivated, and delivering the highest standards of care.
  • Ensure the service is compliant with safeguarding policies, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Support the Service Manager in managing staffing levels, rotas, and operational activities.
  • Manage and respond to any challenging behaviours or crisis situations, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Foster effective communication with external professionals, families, and other stakeholders to support the welfare of the children and young people.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development for both staff and service users.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a residential care setting, ideally with EBD young people.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A passion for working with vulnerable children and young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory requirements, and child development.
  • A commitment to the continuous development of both yourself and your team.
