Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Lead Child Protection Practitioner to work Full Time based in Redbridge.

The salary for this Lead Child Protection Practitioner job is up to £59,646 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Have an applied understanding of what constitutes a child suffering actual or likely significant harm. To consider the severity, duration and frequency of any abuse, degree of threat, coercion, or cruelty, the significance of others in the child’s world, including all adults and children in contact with the child.
  • Know the limits and strengths of their personal expertise and agency remit. They will work collaboratively and proactively with multi-agency practitioners to build an accurate and comprehensive understanding of a child’s daily life and family.
  • Responsible for deciding what action to take and how to proceed following the child protection investigation, ensuring decisions are made based on the multi-agency discussions and informed by the voice of the child.
  • Consider the evidence presented to a conference, make judgements about the likelihood of a child suffering significant harm in future and decide whether the child is at continuing risk of significant harm.
  • Share and analyse in an inter-agency conference the information which has been obtained about the child’s developmental needs, and the parents capacity to respond to these needs to ensure the child’s safety and promote the child’s health and development within the context of the wider family and environment.
  • The decision on whether the child will be considered for a child protection conference will be made subject to a child protection plan, giving independent consideration to the professional’s views at the meetings.
  • Ensure a complete and correct of the discussion and decisions of the child protection conference, including any dissent. The conference chair is accountable for this record’s content and its timely distribution.
  • Remain the allocated Lead Child Protection Practitioner for the child. Oversee the delivery of the child protection plan by Family Help, ensuring child protection review conference are held promptly.

Requirements of this Lead Child Protection Practitionerjob:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
