About the Role:

As Behaviour Support Worker your role will be to contribute to the daily provision of high-quality pastoral care. This includes monitoring standards and patterns of behaviour and discipline, attendance, and punctuality. You will need to have a good understanding of the school's behaviour policy and be able to support staff in implementing this.

You will:

  • Supervise and monitor the movement of students around the site during lesson times returning students who are absent without permission to classrooms
  • Supervise students across the site during lunch time
  • Support the operation and monitoring of the Internal Exclusion and Restorative rooms as appropriate
  • Support the effective operation of the on-call system to remove students from lessons as necessary
  • Under supervision provide mentoring and tailored literacy and numeracy catch-up interventions which are evidenced based and therapeutic to students on a 1:1 and small group basis

About you:

  • You should have level 2 qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths
  • You'll need previous experience of working with children in a pastoral role
  • You should also have a commitment to the school's Equal Opportunities Policy
  • The ability to be able to lead 1:1 or group intervention sessions on behaviour would be an advantage
  • Being able to speak an additional language would be desirable
