IDVA- Intervention Specialist

  • £23-£29 per hourly rate

Redbridge Council are looking for an IDVA to join their team.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • To have a good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims/survivors, including children and young people
  • To support victims/survivors through ongoing risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, emotional support, and practical support (e.g.: legal, housing, and financial guidance)
  • To undertake interviews with victims/survivors and perpetrators of abuse as needed to provide a holistic assessment of risk and need.
  • To work with a diverse range of service users, including those with mental health conditions, those impacted by substance misuse, those with no recourse to public funds and any other factors which could impact access to services and support.
  • To acquire knowledge about different groups and cultures to inform service delivery, and to understand how gender-based and other forms of oppression contribute to risk
