NonStop's client is a Local Authority based in the South East London, who are seeking experienced Social Worker for their Pre-Birth Team. This role focuses on assessment and support work, ensuring that expectant parents receive the guidance and intervention they need to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their child.

As a Social Worker in this team, you will:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify and address the needs of unborn children and their families.
  • Provide timely and effective interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in need.
  • Work with parents and carers to strengthen protective factors and reduce risks to the child's welfare.
  • Develop and implement support plans to ensure positive outcomes for both parents and their children.
  • Engage in multi-agency working, providing professional leadership and ensuring effective collaboration with partner agencies.
  • Where necessary, take action to secure permanence for children who cannot remain at home, within a timescale that meets their needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Care Planning Regulations.
  • Work with foster carers, special guardians, and other alternative care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Management at this authority will also ensure your caseloads stay manageable to provide a good work life balance. They have actively reduced caseloads to around 15 for their staff to allow better quality of care for their service users.
