We are recruiting for a resilient and proactive Behavioural Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Redbridge. This PRU supports young people who face significant behavioural challenges due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing them with a structured, understanding, and positive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for making a difference in students' lives.Key Responsibilities:• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.• Implement and reinforce behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.• De-escalate challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, helping students to regulate emotions and actions.• Support the academic and personal development of students, fostering resilience and independence.• Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other support workers to deliver a consistent approach to behaviour and learning support.• Facilitate hands-on activities and structured interventions to promote social skills, confidence, and positive engagement.Ideal Candidate Profile:• Previous experience in a behavioural support role, ideally within a PRU, SEND, or SEMH setting.• Strong understanding and experience in behaviour management techniques, including de-escalation strategies.• Relevant qualifications in education or behavioural support (Level 2 or 3 preferred).• Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or other behaviour management programs is highly advantageous.• A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.Why Horizon Teachers?• Earn up to £300 in Vouchers of your choice for successful referrals!• Easy registration process via an online link and a video registration.• You will be paid the permanent equivalent pay for the job after 12 full weeks.• We offer a FREE Safeguarding Course online to support you in your work in an educational setting!• Horizon Teachers is committed to ensuring our staff are happy in their roles, please look at our 4.8-rated Google reviewsHi everyone, my experience with the Horizon team has been excellent since day one.
