SEND Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join a devoted team of staff in a primary school in East London starting in September. The successful applicant will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism and behavioural challenges, to help them blossom academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Nurture pupils in developing lifelong, transferrable skills.
Assist in providing one to one and smaller group support.
Create a rapport with parents and track student progress.
Support the emotional and social development of pupils.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced with working with SEND pupils.
Good behaviour management skills.
Previous experience working with SEND pupils.
Good interpersonal skill and knowledge of SEND best practices.
Eager to support students academically and emotionally.
Ability to work in a team collaboratively to ensure pupil progression academically and emotionally.
About the Role:
SEND Teaching Assistants should have a positive attitude towards pupils and aid them in achieving success and excelling in the classroom. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate assertiveness and good behaviour management as well as a passion in supporting SEND pupils Candidates ideally should have some previous experience in working with SEND pupils. Candidates should also be able to provide support to pupils of varying abilities.
