  • Work with other staff members and external professionals (e.g. therapists, SENCOs) to support student progress and well-being.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students feel respected and encouraged to learn.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour in line with college policies.

  • Be patient, empathetic, and have a positive attitude towards supporting children with a wide range of needs.
  • Have a good understanding of child development and SEN, with knowledge of strategies to support students with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or other complex needs (desirable).
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in responding to students' individual needs, both academically and emotionally.
  • Hold relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) or be willing to work towards them.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
