Prospero Teaching are working with dynamic SEN schools who are looking for a empathetic SEN Teachers to lead learners from January 2025 or sooner. Due to the school's supportive structure, ECTs are invited to apply too.

Role Overview:

As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting pupils with a range of special needs inclusive of autism (ASD) and communication (SLCN) needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored educational support to pupils, adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
  • Lead the educational provision for referred pupils on short, long, or recurring bases, ensuring continuity of care and tracking progress effectively.
  • Offer emotional support to pupils and their families, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment and addressing concerns sensitively.
  • Identify and address learning gaps caused by absences, providing targeted interventions to facilitate academic progress.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support and advocate for pupil well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support provided, and stay updated on best practices through professional development opportunities.

The successful Special Needs Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or applicants looking to do their Early Career Teaching (ECT) are welcomed to apply.
  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and between schools.
  • Access to Good References and an Enhanced DBS
