Speech and Language Therapist - Permanent contract

I am excited to share a wonderful opportunity to work as a Speech and Language Therapist with a well-established SLT provider in East London. I wanted to ask if you would be interested in this by any chance?

You will be joining a supportive team of SLT and OTs within mainstream primary and secondary school setting. If you're passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs, we'd love to hear from you!

They are primarily a school based service but have recently also been taking on more clients directed by Local Authorities (case by case basis).

The role on offer would be a combination of:

a) school visits

b) EHCP clients who may be at different locations (therefore we cap how many any therapist can see, taking into account travel between sites).

The role location is in East London.

Responsibilities

Managing schools:

The role is autonomous for the most part. Your way of working will probably be different to mine or anyone else's in the team. We recognise that individual therapy styles are important and that the therapist needs to have a degree of agency in their own managing of how they work.

In so saying, there will be support for you when you need it - it's important, because of the autonomy of the roles, that our staff communicate with us when they are facing challenges and we can support them through those when/ if needed.

There are some structures in place in terms of school expectations of number of 'sessions' per day - this may have come from previous therapists' systems (but there is flexibility in this also).

We have standard report templates which, in order to achieve consistency across our team, we expect to be used. However, again, we're no so rigid that we need them to be exact in their formats. But we've designed them to reduce the amount of work required, particularly when writing standard assessment reports (rather than those required for EHCP applications which are necessarily more detailed).

Please apply if:

- you are a qualified speech and language therapist registered with HCPC

- you have experience in paediatrics

Benefits:

  • Flexible working - there is also working from home, hybrid
  • Chance of development and taking lead roles
  • Supportive team
  • Permanent full-time contract - stability and security
  • Friendly management
  • Mainstream school setting - not so stressful as specialist
