English Tutor Wanted - Flexible, Rewarding Role!

Are you a passionate science teacher looking for flexible and rewarding work? We have an exciting opportunity for experienced English tutors to join our team in East London and the surrounding areas!

Role Requirements:

  • Pay: 30 - 35 per hour
  • DBS on Update: Must have an up-to-date DBS check.
  • Subjects: English

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with different age groups or learning levels (e.g., elementary, high school, or adult learners).

  • Proficiency in grammar, literature, and writing.

This tutor role involves:

  • planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
  • plan and deliver engaging sessions.
  • apply skills to raise pupils' confidence.
  • manage children with challenging behaviour.
  • track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports.
  • potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student,
  • learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruction:
    • Plan and deliver lessons based on the student's needs and goals.
    • Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Assessment:
    • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly.
    • Provide feedback on assignments, tests, and speaking exercises.
  • Customization:
    • Tailor lessons to suit each student's individual learning style and pace.
    • Prepare and adjust teaching materials accordingly.
  • Student Support:
    • Encourage students' motivation and confidence in using English.
    • Provide assistance with homework, exam preparation, and project work.
  • Communication:
    • Regularly update parents, guardians, or supervisors on student progress.
    • Provide constructive feedback and suggest improvement strategies.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay updated on the latest teaching methods, tools, and resources.
    • Participate in training or professional development opportunities as needed.
