We are looking for a skilled administrator to join the Freight Forwarding team on a Temp to Perm basis at our clients busy depot in Castle Donington, just on the outskirts of Derby. This dynamic position involves working with the on site team to assist with import bookings, customer service, and general administrative tasks. This would be a great opportunity for somebody with prior knowledge and experience in the freight industry looking for a new challenge with globally renowned company.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and processing import freight for both air and road shipments.
- Keeping customers informed and managing their expectations.
- Handling customs clearance to ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
- Processing invoices and maintaining up-to-date account statements.
- Providing accurate quotations.
- Addressing and escalating any issues that arise.
- Maintaining communication with overseas offices and third-party partners.
What we're looking for:
You MUST have experience in a freight environment, with a solid understanding of import procedures and customs regulations being essential for this position. Proficiency in IT systems such as AS400, Sequoia, Word, and Excel is required. You should be capable of managing your workload effectively, planning, and prioritizing daily tasks. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to support other departments during busy times or when covering for holidays is important.
