Mechanical Design Engineer required joining a growing manufacturer of Mechanical machinery in the Ilkeston, Derbyshire area. Are client has a proven background working with Large Blue chip company's delivering high quality engineering solutions to a wide range of customers. Specialising in the design, development and delivery of Mechanical machinery and services for the leisure industry. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced in design and preferably degree qualified/HND/HNC/apprenticeship served in a mechanical engineering field of study.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Creating Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Development of machinery design using Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Working alongside colleagues and clients (where needed) to come up with engineering solutions encountered in the design phase.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with shop floor personnel to ensure final products are manufactured correctly and to client specifications and requirements.
  • Creating Technical Documentation e.g. Detail risk assessments, Operations and maintenances manuals, Risk Methods
  • Working with clients face to face
  • Traveling to sites for project installations

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements

  • Degree/HND/HNC/Apprenticeship Served qualification in a Mechanical Engineering field of study.
  • 5 years minimum in the use of 3D CAD software. (Solidworks / AutoCAD)
  • It is desired that the successful candidate will have some working experience in a similar capacity.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 Part 2 Standards
  • Ability to understand and create engineering drawings.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Strong skills using MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Based in a commutable distance of Ilkeston
  • Full UK Driving License

  • Salary £30,000 - £45,000
