Our client, operating within the water industry, is currently seeking a talented M&E Project Engineer to join their team in Ilkeston. This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to work on vital projects within the sector. The successful individual will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical aspects of project delivery, ensuring efficient and budget-conscious execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and delivering projects to agreed cost, scope, and schedule
- Supporting the preparation of project design and cost estimates
- Analysing and understanding client specifications for efficient and safe project design
- Attending start-up, site visit, and design meetings
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring pre-construction process plans
- Communicating design and specification changes effectively
- Identifying and pre-qualifying subcontractors, and managing procurement processes
- Assisting in preparing project budgets and tracking costs
- Ensuring design and procurement activities align with company procedures
- Working as part of the delivery team to ensure timely project completion within budget
- Supporting site, construction, and remote delivery teams
- Adhering to all HR and H&S policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a design and build project delivery role within the water industry
- Knowledge and experience of NEC3 contracts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, including Microsoft Project
- CSCS card and 18th Edition of BS7671 (Electrical only)
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on own initiative, part of a team, and independently
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle and process information and data
- Willingness to travel and manage workload effectively
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- CITB SMSTS or CITB SSSTS certification
