Job Title: Production SupervisorLocation: Ilkeston, DerbyshireDuration: PermanentSalary: Up to 45kWe are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor for a permanent position based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Will consider candidates from: Construction, Concrete, Aggregates, Highways, Rail or Large DevelopmentsOversee the factory on a rotating shift to match production (05:00 to 14:30, 07:00 to 16:30 and 13:00 to 22:30) or fixed shiftJob purpose:Lead the team to ensure the daily targets are met in a safe and efficient manner, collaborating with other Supervisors and Managers along the way. They optimise productivity and uphold safety protocols with a zero tolerance to PPE adherence, reporting challenges to higher management to maintain a secure working environment. Accountabilities/Scope of Work:1. Manage the activities of your department, including liaising with other departmental supervisors & management to ensure a safe & tidy working environment compliant with Company specification to meet Company and client requirements 2. Comply with company health and safety laws and ensure rules are complied with. 3. Development and delivery of risk assessments. Create SOPs to ensure all tasks within the factory areas are suitably covered by procedures, and all personnel operate to the SOPs of work at all times. 4. Ensure the company standards of housekeeping are always achieved 5. Ensure productivity targets are monitored and achieved by ensuring accurate allocation of labour hours 6. Supervise the safe operations within an allocated area, ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose prior to use, and advising of defects at the earliest opportunity 7. Hold daily briefing meetings with the team to ensure smooth running of the Department 8. Manage the safe use and storage of all equipment within your area(s) 9. Proactively communicate with the management team to identify and resolve any arising or identified issues, attend daily briefing meetings. 10. Ensure that all team members and new starters have a full understanding of the duties they are expected to perform, and that they fully understand their responsibilities to work safely11. Manage attendance and timekeeping and take initial action in cases of poor timekeeping and unauthorised absence. Escalate this information daily and seek advice where necessary 12. Manage sickness absence, including taking sickness reporting calls 13. Ensure that all team members are aware of the expected standards of behaviour, and that these standards are adhered to Knowledge and Experience* Preferably you will have 4 years' experience in the concrete/pre-cast sector in a Supervisory role with demonstratable behaviours previously outlined or * Experience of quality control processes * Knowledge of production processes * Basic knowledge of policies, procedures and practices on:

o Health & Safety o Disciplinary & Grievance o Attendance & Absence o Sickness o Bullying & Harassment o Equality & Diversity o Managing performance Qualifications and Training* Basic MS Office and computer skills (Training can be provided) * IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely is preferred but not essential
