Finance AssistantMorgan Hunt is working with a College in Ilkeston to recruit a Finance Assistant. This is a part-time role, requiring 22.2 hours per week (Tues - Thurs), paying up to £17 Umbrella and will be based on site.
Job PurposeTo maintain an efficient cashier function, credit control, and sales/purchase ledger support for the College and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:- Cashiering and Receipting: Receive and process payments from various college departments, ensuring proper cash handling, reconciliation, and preparation for banking.
- Ledger Management: Input and process sales ledger invoices, post and allocate sales ledger receipts, and support purchase ledger functions as needed.
- Reconciliations: Reconcile till records, credit card transactions, and bank accounts, ensuring accuracy across all financial records.
- Credit Control and Debt Recovery: Assist in credit control duties, debt collection, and liaising with departments to resolve outstanding payments.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to both internal and external customers, helping resolve queries as they arise.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to College financial regulations, Health & Safety policies, Data Protection requirements, and Equal Opportunities standards.
- Strong Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Organisational and Analytical Skills: Proven ability to manage and organise financial documentation efficiently, with a keen attention to accuracy.
- Financial System Proficiency: Experience with computerised accounting systems and an understanding of credit control, debt collection, and banking processes.
- Professionalism: Enthusiastic, proactive, and reliable with an ethical approach to handling sensitive financial information.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with credit control, sales ledger, cashier functions, debt collection, and banking processes.
