P4 Recruitment are working with a client in Ilkeston to find a Childrenā€™s Residential Support Worker who is passionate about excellence and providing person-centred care for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated learning difficulties. Hours and shift patterns

A combination of early shifts, late shifts and full days with occasional sleep-in duties. All positions include working some weekends and bank holidays.

Early 07:30-15:00

Late 14:30- 22.00 or sleep

Full 07:30- 22:00 or sleep

Daily responsibilities and shift patterns

  • Encourage development of individual interests and attitudes
  • To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person
  • Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security
  • Provide firm, consistent and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour and employ appropriate and agreed sanctions
  • Promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for Young People
  • Assist Young People in the development and sustaining of positive social networks with adults and other peer groups
  • To organize and participate in group activities and group holidays
  • Encourage Young People to develop their full educational and vocational attainment
  • Observe and assess the behaviour of Young People
  • To engage in and supervise day to day care practices, creating an accepting environment conducive to the positive personal development of each Young Person

Essential requirements

  • Currently working in children services with a minimum 6 months experience.
  • Holding a valid driving licence is essential/ company carpool available.

Desirable requirements

  • level 3 diploma in childrenā€™s residential care
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Understanding of Autism/Physical/Emotional/Social Needs of Young People
