Classroom Link are delighted to be working with a school in the Ilkeston (DE7) area who are looking to add a SEN Teaching Assistant to their team

The school specialises supporting young people with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. The school has excellent transport links and is a few minutes walk from both train and bus stops.

The main duties within this role will be:

- Ensuring the smooth running of the school day.

- Enabling our young people to make progress towards positive outcomes

- Promoting a love of learning and safeguarding them at all times.

- Monitoring and evaluate each young persons work, encouraging them and celebrating their reaching of personal goals.

- Be responsible for directly teaching, and also supporting in challenging situations.

- Personal care of students will also be required at times.

The successful candidate will:

- Be a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant, who holds a relevant qualification in teaching and learning. SLD experience is preferred / desirable.

- Be confident in managing pupils with a range of SEND

- Be able to build relationships with pupils

- Have an excellent attendance record and possess great time management skills

This role is due to start ASAP and hours of work will be 8:15 - 4:15
