Marks Sattin are working with a highly recognised business to support in their search for an experienced finance professional to join their team. Joining this growing business, they have many projects coming up to bring the business forward. Within the role you will be involved with managing project budgets, resourcing, tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and analysing financial data to ensure projects are completed within budget. You will also see yourself business partnering with project managers, stakeholders and senior leadership to provide financial insights, identify risks, and support decision-making.Working with the business for a period of 6 - 9 Months, you will ideally be a Qualified Accountant with previous project accounting knowledge and you will be comfortable dealing with high volumes of data. Working on a flexible hybrid basis, you will be able to go into the office however many times suits you (offices based in Ilkley), with set days per quarter in the office required. Paying up to £350 per day. Within the role itself, you can see yourself focusing on:
- Work with Finance Business Partners and Change leadership to support the creation of business cases.
- Track cashflow and forecasting of project expenses, ensuring costs are classified and coded correctly and within budget.
- Help manage compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws and project specific regulations.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure that all project-related financial accounts are reconciled
- Ensure that the financial performance (cost, resource and benefits) of projects is reported, carrying out variance analysis and producing forward-looking forecasts.
- Identify financial risks associated with the delivery of change and propose strategies for mitigating these.
- Act as the key point of contact between the finance department and project teams.
- Support the implementation of reporting and financial tools.
Experience within large organisations is essential for this role, along with strong systems knowledge. You will have a strong commercial background, along with advanced excel skills. This will be a crucial role in supporting the finance team through a large ongoing project.
