Location: Turner Lane, Ilkley

Salary: £11.50 per hour

Hours: 39.25 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday - 7am- 3pm

Our client is a family-run business located in Yorkshire, providing CNC machining, edgebanding, and laser cutting and engraving services to business throughout the UK. Whether it’s a unique custom piece or a large production run, they’re equipped to meet any requirement and deadline with precision and efficiency. 

The Role

They are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join their dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within their warehouse environment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
• Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Conduct regular inspections and basic repairs on equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
• Manage materials handling tasks, including sorting and organising products for shipping and receiving.
• Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is essential.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes and warehouse management systems.
• Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices in the workplace.
• A valid forklift operator licence is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for suitable candidates.
