Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working exclusively with an established manufacturing business based in North Leeds. Due to a busy period within the team, they are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Administrator to join the team to support them with an exciting project.

Main Duties will include:

  • Effectively advise, and support Managers within the business to ensure a safe workplace environment with minimised risk to health and safety of employees, contractors and other 3rd parties.
  • Co-ordinate the development and assist in the administration of Environmental and Health & Safety policies, safe systems of work and procedures.
  • Support Department Managers with environmental / H&S induction for new employees
  • Support the HSE Manager with the Environmental / H&S Audit Schedule, audit reports and actions
  • Ensure you provide clear, relevant and timely advice to enable the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Updating notice boards with contact details, procedures, posters, performance results, and any other relevant QHSE information.
  • Creating purchase order requisitions for HSE requirements
  • Entering information into spreadsheets and databases with reference to accidents, first aid, hazardous material, training, corrective actions, customer complaints and internal non-conformance
  • Creating, and maintaining controlled HSE documentation
  • Support all managers to ensure the completion and review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, properly investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Ensure full and accurate Environmental / health and safety related records are maintained.
  • Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
  • Take and distribute minutes for the Environmental /Health & Safety Committee meetings.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant Environmental / health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
  • Provide regular reports to the Quality Manager
  • Support HR data gathering when required for any Personal Injury claims.

    The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications:

  • Experience in an environmental / H&S role in a manufacturing environment - however, the environment is desirable.
  • UK Health and Safety legislation/HSE knowledge
  • IOSH managing safely qualification.
  • NEBOSH certificate, working towards diploma - Desirable
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001- Desirable
  • Strong IT skills and competent using MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

    The role will require an individual who is self motivated, has the ability to work alongside others and prides themself on accuracy and a level of attention to detail. The individual will have the chance to be involved in a robust project and voice opinions and ideas to help support the relevant Health and Safety status required.Although the role is a contract opportunity, the business is always recruiting and growing, therefore there is always a potential of an opportunity for longer than the initial 6 months.They are looking for someone to start in this role ASAP.
