Are you an experienced care professional with a passion for mental health? We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a specialist Mental Health Nursing Home in Ilkley.

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our residents, supporting their mental and physical well-being. You will lead a team of care assistants to ensure that all care is delivered in line with individual care plans, promoting dignity, respect, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering person-centered care to residents with mental health needs, including assistance with daily living activities.
  • Supervising and supporting care assistants, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Administering medication and assisting in the development and review of care plans.
  • Monitoring the health and well-being of residents, reporting any changes to the nursing team.
  • Supporting residents with social, emotional, and physical needs, encouraging participation in activities.
  • Promoting a safe and positive environment within the home.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a senior care role, preferably within a mental health setting.
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work a combination of day and night shifts.
