The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day care of our residents. You'll be at the forefront of delivering compassionate, high-quality care while supervising and guiding the care team. Your leadership will help ensure that our residents receive the best possible care in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by Example: Supervise, support, and mentor the care team to ensure exceptional care delivery.
  • Hands-on Care: Provide personal care to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort while supporting daily activities and routines.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medication and support the team with medication management.
  • Care Planning: Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans to meet residents' specific needs.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.
  • Shift Leadership: Coordinate care activities during your shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the home and providing direction and support to staff.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, reporting any changes in residents' health to senior staff.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Senior Care Assistant with strong leadership skills and a genuine desire to improve the lives of those we care for.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a senior or leadership role, ideally in dementia or mental health care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team while providing hands-on care.
  • Competence in administering and managing medication.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in care planning and understanding of CQC regulations.
  • Knowledge of dementia and mental health care best practices.
