We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral Pupil Achievement Mentor to join one of our vibrant school communities in Bradford. This is a vital role in supporting students to achieve their personal and academic goals by helping with pastoral care and managing behavioural challenges. The goal of the school's strong ethos is to give every student an exceptional, well-rounded, and forward-thinking education. They have received "Outstanding" ratings from the Diocese and Ofsted.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or mentoring role within a secondary school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education, youth work, counselling, or social work (Level 3 or above).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • A firm but empathetic approach to behaviour management and conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored pastoral support to students, helping them overcome personal and academic barriers.
  • Monitor and improve attendance, behaviour, and academic progress of identified students.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies for students at risk of underachievement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to foster a supportive network.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions, focusing on resilience, confidence, and study skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
  • Oversee support of students at pupil services, specific focus of the year 7 pupils
  • Support SLT with the on call systems
  • Taking inbound calls from Year 7 parents and also Reporting to the Year 7 Head of Year
