My client is currently seeking a qualified Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant for their Ilminster based offices.This role is office based but only 36 hours and a 4 day week!The successful candidate must be Qualified/ part qualified with experience in fulfilling the complete range of financial management processes, preferably within an international trading environment.Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and control the ERP system for all financial processes
  • Prepare monthly Journal schedules and input into the system.
  • Prepare month end and quarterly Management Accounts
  • Prepare the weekly Sales Report, distribute to relevant personnel, and attend a weekly debtors meeting.
  • Provide information to Treasury to enable management of cashflow
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget, monitoring variances and drawing up corrective plans with senior managers
  • Control of VAT account and submissions.
  • Maintain control and timely completion of all payments
  • Maintain control of sales, purchase and general cost ledgers
  • Conduct customer credit checks, setting credit limits and monitoring aged debts
  • Manage exchange rate fluctuation hedges
  • Ensuring the preparation of the annual statutory accounts by the auditors, by providing schedules and documentation as required.
  • Provide information for corporation tax returns to the Company’s external advisors
  • Advise managers on financial policy and control, attending Management Meetings
  • Effectively communicate and manage relationships with external advisors
  • Provide assistance to the Financial Accountant and Management Accountant.
  • Assist the Head of Finance to coordinate, and enforce systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure financial compliance of JSOX audits
  • Production of the DME monthly Salaries.
Person Spec A Qualified/ part qualified Accountant with experience in fulfilling the complete range of financial management processes, preferably within an international trading environment.Knowledge and Skills Essential
  • An individual Accountant with significant experience in fulfilling the complete range of financial management processes
  • Previous experience of Finance Information Systems Management is essential, in which you will have gained knowledge of ERP system usage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound problem-solving skills and use of initiative.
  • Experience in effectively managing a small team.
  • Strong competency in Excel.
  • Strong personal organization skills are required with experience in meeting regular accounting deadlines.
