Hours of work:39 hours per week, worked 8.5 hours Monday to Thursday and 5 hours Friday. Additional hours may be required to meet specific customer requirements.
Job purpose:Designing low voltage switchboards and similar products to customer specifications.
Main Duties:
- Making use of estimates (prepared by others), and customer specifications to design low voltage electrical switchgear and similar products.
- Compiling parts lists from the companys parts database and arranging with the purchasing team for materials to be procured in advance of production start.
- Communicating requirements to CAD staff who will prepare detailed drawings for you.
- Provision of handover packs to supervisory production staff and progressing queries during the build process.
- Agreeing and proactively managing timelines.
Skills / attributes
- Experience of working with or designing LV switchgear
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and bills of materials
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Ability to handle a varied number of projects at the same time
- Problem solving and working to deadlines
- Commercial awareness
- Basic / intermediate use of Microsoft Office and similar software
- CAD (basic level only as the company has a CAD department)
