Job Title -Production Manager

Reporting to -General Manager

Location -Donyatt, Somerset

Hours of work -39 hours per week with a 1pm finish on Friday. The post is also suitable for part-time or job share.

Salary -£38,000 - £46,000 (pro-rata) dependent on experience

Background -Knight Electrical Switchgear is a specialist provider of electrical switchgear, control panels and related products. The companys products are built in a dedicated factory in Donyatt and installed in hospitals, schools, naval bases, solar farms, EV charging stations etc throughout the UK. The company is successful, innovative and widely recognised as one of the foremost suppliers of its type in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the companys production, goods-in, dispatch and stores
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure on time and on budget product builds Influencing others to ensure the manufacturing plan is up to date and achievable
  • Identifying and promoting safe and efficient working practices and improvement initiatives
  • Development, monitoring and motivation of 20+ staff Leading at planning and department meetings
  • Implementing company policies and quality standards
  • Monthly audits
  • Vehicle fleet management
  • Oversight of factory maintenance tasks

Profile

  • Experience of managing a team in a production, electrical or engineering environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing / assembly processes Planning, delegation and time management
  • Ability and tenacity to pre-empt / overcome problems and find solutions Negotiation skills and the ability to influence Organised and efficient
  • Use of Microsoft Office and similar software
  • Experience of working within as ISO 9001 environment
  • Electrical / mechanical experience an advantage but not a requirement
