Quality Manager

The Opportunity:
Are you a seasoned Quality Manager who has experienced of working within a busy engineering or manufacturing environment? With a focus on Quality, you will take responsibility for the management of a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Packing, Despatch and Warehouse Operators, the EHS Officer and Laboratory Technicianswithin a busy metalshop environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that the correct controls and documentations are in place to ensure product quality, integrity and traceability:Quality Planning, Quality documentation and storage, on-time delivery, training for inspection methods and techniques, visual conformance guides, inspection equipment and product handling, ALL in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001.
  • To lead the Quality team in the execution of the business strategy to include developing and continuous improvement of Quality activities in order to enhance manufacturing and business processes. Whilst also: building the Quality team expertise to provide future rigor and effectiveness in the pursuit of business improvements.
  • To Maintain an effective and relevant documentation system that is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure content is current and applicable
  • Manage and collate accurate product defect data (internal scrap) and provide weekly reports, working closely with the production teams to resolve these issues.
  • To ensure internal audits are conducted to a pre-determined plan and any subsequent findings are closed within a timely manner and to manage all externalquality related audits.
Requires of You:
  • Applicants should hold a degree in an engineering related discipline, or a lower level qualification which is supported with relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience as a Quality Manager within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment is absolutely essential.
  • Previous experience of successfully leading a team from which you will have gained the ability to prioritise and organise team tasks effectively, and to motivate and develop team members
  • Drive, commitment and leadership to ensure that the highest standards of quality performance are continuously maintained for our customers
  • Confident and effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Associated Benefits:
26 days holiday per annum (allocated to fixed and flexible dates) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.
Working Hours: Day shift hours (07.00 to 16.30 Monday to Wednesday, 07.00 to 16.00 Thursday)
