Job Description

  • Job Title: Engineer Surveyor
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours:  40 hours per week
  • Location: Yorkshire and Humber or M62 corridor
  • Salary:  Competitive 

We are looking an experienced Engineer, located in the Yorkshire and Humber region, who can be part of our team of highly skilled experts in their field and, in return, offer a practical and down-to-earth work culture in the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company. You will be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal skills open to new ideas and enjoy working with your colleagues in a friendly and supportive work environment to deliver a high service level to our clients. 

As an Engineer Surveyor with SGS, you will act as a competent person, examining client’s assets to a high standard in a consistent and professional manner, ensuring compliance with current regulatory and statutory requirements. You will also ensure the quality and accuracy of examination records to report the ongoing suitability, defects, omissions and observations back to the client.

Qualifications

  • A level 4 qualification  (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field
  • Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship
  • Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Full Driving license valid in the UK.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations such as LOLER, PSSR, PUWER and COSHH.
  • Industry experience inspecting all types of plant and equipment including pressure vessels, steam pressure equipment, lifting equipment and lifts/elevators and cranes.
  • Able to work at height and in confined spaces.

  • Specialist training LEEA qualifications
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • IPAF Certificate
  • Confined Space Certificate
  • Working at Heights certificate
  • Wire Rope Examiner
