Control and Instrumentation Technician – Power Station

Circa £48,500 + bonus + OT + benefits

Immingham, Lincolnshire

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting a Control and Instrumentation Technician to join the maintenance department of a gas fired power station (CCGT) in the Immingham area. The C&I Technician will be responsible for the planning and execution of all C&I maintenance work across the site to ensure minimum downtime and maximum availability.

As the C&l Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all C&I assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and the sites control systems (DCS and PLCs etc)
  • Planning and managing the execution of works and closing out work packs
  • Assisting with outage planning and execution
  • Providing technical support to the operations team when required
  • Working alongside other Technicians and Engineers with regards to plant projects and upgrades
  • Managing contractors when required

This is a days-based role working Monday to Friday

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A time served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering subject such as electrical or electronic engineering or similar
  • A relevant engineering qualification at HNC level or higher is essential
  • Proven hands-on maintenance experience across control and instrumentation maintenance in a relevant engineering environment – power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site etc.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Ideally experience managing and directing contractors
  • A good understanding of all HSE aspects

Salary & benefits

This Mechanical Technician role comes with the following:

  • A basic salary up to circa £48,500 depending on experience
  • A bonus up to 20%
  • A further rolling 3 yearly bonus scheme
