About the role

As the Service Asset & Configuration Manager, you will be primarily responsible for implementing and managing the SACM process, ensuring alignment with ITIL framework. Working 9-5 Monday to Friday, you will provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making and resource optimization.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with detailed information on all IT assets and configuration items.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for effective asset lifecycle management, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Oversee the procurement, deployment, and tracking of software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and legal requirements.
  • Monitor software usage and license consumption, optimizing license allocation to prevent over- or under-utilization.
  • Conduct regular audits of software licenses to ensure accuracy and compliance, addressing any discrepancies as needed.
  • Generate and deliver detailed reports on asset and configuration item status, license usage, and compliance to higher management.
  • Collaborate with other process owners and stakeholders to align asset and configuration management activities with overall business objectives.
  • Maintain the Service Catalogue and provide regular reporting and suggestions for improvement.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve SACM processes, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Work closely with the Support & Operations team to identify areas for process optimization and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and other stakeholders on SACM policies, procedures, and best practices.

About you

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Asset and Configuration Management Specialist to join our Service Management Office. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field and possess proven experience in service asset and configuration management, preferably within an ITIL framework. Strong knowledge of IT asset management, configuration management, and software license management principles are essential, along with proficiency in Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools and asset management software. The candidate must have excellent analytical skills, capable of generating meaningful reports and insights from complex data sets. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. The role demands a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. An ITIL Foundation certification or higher is highly desirable for this specialist position.
